This is a co-ed class of boys and girls. Students will be exposed to various individual and dual sports. The basic fundamental skills, etiquette, rules, terminology, and game play will be taught.

                                                  Students may dress out in athletic clothing (mid-length shorts, leggings,                                                                                                                                                 sweatpants)

                                                   MUST have tennis shoes

Weights and Conditioning 7 & 8 (only offered to 7th graders 2nd semester) - Prerequisite:  Regular PE in 1st Semester  This course will stress the fundamentals of weight training, aerobic & anaerobic conditioning, flexibility, agility, speed, power, balance, and plyometrics.  The students will be exposed to numerous fitness components through various tests of power, strength, cardiovascular fitness, and agility. The students will also learn safety issues and how to use proper techniques on each lift.  Health-related issues will be addressed with regard to sports and nutrition. The students will be graded on technique, participation, attitude, effort, and course assessments. This class is based on proper fundamental techniques designed to increase performance and to decrease injury.  * Note. This is a co-ed class.

 

PE II 7 & 8 (only offered to 7th graders 2nd semester) - Prerequisite:  Regular PE in 1st semester  Students will meet for PE on a daily basis for the entire semester.  Students will be exposed to various individual, dual, and team sports along with various lifetime recreational activities throughout the semester.  The basic fundamental skills, etiquette, rules, terminology, and gameplay will be taught. The course will provide an in-depth study of sports and activities.  Examples of units include self-defense, wrestling, swimming, yoga, dance, gymnastics, bowling, ultimate frisbee, and other various activities. * Note. This is a co-ed class.
